It is a great ally of the intestine, because it protects the gastric mucosa and decreases the production of gastric acids. This action is beneficial in case of gastritis or ulcers. Celery fruits and leaves are excellent to soothe stomach pains and intestinal disorders.
Its carminative and stomachic properties, celery promotes digestion and helps eliminating swelling. This vegetable is amazing as a diuretic, because it contains 90% of water and its essential oil dilates kidney blood vessels.

This vegetable has very few calories: only 20kcal every 100 grams. For this reason, it is often used in ipocaloric and detox diets. It contains 90% of water and only 2,4 grams of carbohydrates.
It also contains potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium, but also vitamin C, vitamin K. In a lesser amount, it also contains some B group vitamins and vitamin E. Instead, its leaves have good quantities of vitamin A.
