Cupcakes and cakes alert: the Philadelphia frosting has arrived!

Frosting in Philadelphia

Preparing the Philadelphia frosting is really simple: just a few ingredients are enough to make a truly delicious cream for cupcakes and cakes.

When we talk about frosting, the first one that comes to mind is the butter one which, in Anglo-Saxon recipes, is usually used to decorate cupcakes and fill cakes . The amount of calories in that recipe is unimaginable and that is why many prefer to opt for the Philadelphia frosting.

This versatile spreadable cheese , due to its texture, is ideal for creating a thick cream perfect for pastry. More delicate but equally delicious, the Philadelphia frosting is prepared with very few ingredients in less than 10 minutes. You can also enrich it with Nutella or color it with gel dyes: the result will always be perfect!

How to make Philadelphia frosting

  1. First, whip the cream with the electric whisk until stiff peaks.
  2. In a separate bowl also whip Philadelphia , icing sugar and vanilla .
  3. Incorporate the cream into the latter with gentle movements from bottom to top, to avoid disassembling it.
  4. Transfer the Philadelphia cupcake cream into a pastry bag with a spout and place it in the refrigerator for an hour or so.

The Philadelphia frosting is ready to be used both on cupcakes and inside filled cakes. Everyone will be enchanted by its delicate flavor.

As mentioned in the introduction, you can make your frosting different from time to time: add two tablespoons of Nutella or one of bitter cocoa to get a chocolate version or a few drops of dye to customize the cupcakes according to the occasion. You can also replace vanillin with other flavors such as lemon zest, orange blossom essence or almond extract. In short, green light to the imagination!

The fact that there are also lactose-free and light versions on the market allows you to further expand the range of desserts that you can prepare.

storage

You can keep the Philadelphia frosting for 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
