According to a new research, diet drinks are harmful, as they increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
A recent study found out that drinking at least 2 cans a day of diet beverages would increase the premature risk of cardiovascular diseases. This drinks could cause heart attacks and strokes, even at a young age.
The research was developed by the experts of the American Heart Association and was published on the magazine Stroke. Researchers found out that people who drink these products have a 15% more risk of contracting these kind of illnesses than those who don’t.

In an interview on the CNN, Dr Yasmin Mossavar-Rahmani, who guided the research, said: “Many people who want to lose weight, especially overweight and obese ones, drink diet beverages in order to reduce their calorie intake”.
The research has stated that highly industrialized drinks with a low content of sugar are responsible for strokes, heart attacks and heart diseases, other than increasing the risk of suffering from angina.
The study involved about 80.000 women at risk, especially those suffering from stress and obesity, for almost 12 years.
Industries sweeten Diet Coke and other soft drinks with aspartame, which we know it’s not good for our health. Moreover, the World Health Organization recommends to limit the number of soft drinks. In this way, it would be possible to avoid overweight, obesity and other illnesses, both in adults and children.
