Let’s see how to make a DIY hand cream against dry and cracked skin, following grandma’s old recipes!
Cold, wind and too aggressive detergents make your hands very dry and cracked. You can buy a lot of useful creams to solve this problem, but they are not as efficient as the one you can do it yourself.
Our grandmothers passed down many easy recipes: you just need some cheap ingredients!
DIY hand cream: 2 recipes
– Shea butter cream against cracked hands. Shea butter is one of the best ingredient to deeply nourish and renew our skin, because it is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E. In order to prepare this cream, you need: 180gr of shea butter, 175ml of sweet almond oil, a tablespoon of cornstarch and the essential oils you like.
Melt the butter in the microwave, stirring from time to time to dissolve clumps. Add almond oil, cornstarch and some drops of your chosen essential oil. Blend until homogeneous and store it in a jar with a lid.
– Coconut oil homemade hand cream. Another amazing, natural ingredient to renew and protect dry skin is coconut oil. You can use it to make a nicely scented cream. The ingredients are: 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, 3 tablespoons of beeswax, 80ml of jojoba oil, 80gr of cocoa butter and essential oils.
Pour your coconut oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter and beeswax in an inox pot and let cook at low heat, stirring continuously. When homogeneous, add some drops of essential oils, stir and then store in a glass jar.
