Does the Atkins diet work?
This type of diet focuses on keeping the insulin level always constant. This is a diet with almost no carbohydrates, that is why the body uses fats and proteins as an alternative source of sustenance and energy. In short, with this diet, the body turns into a fat burning machine.
If you follow this type of diet, your body will produce anabolic hormones. Therefore, if matched to some exercising to increase the body mass, it can give good results in a reasonable time.
However, as we have already mentioned, it is very hard to keep the results of this diet. Moreover, the limitation or elimination of carbohydrates can also lead to problems and complications. As it burns just fat, the body produce ketone bodies, which may cause nausea, fatigue, headaches, and migraines.
In short, as we always recommend, before starting a diet see your doctor or a nutritionist.
