Excessive sweating: the causes to know

Excessive sweating, also called hyperhidrosis, results in an excess of sweat often apparently unmotivated. Typically this problem can have two different origins.


The first, which concerns in particular hyperhidrosis in the armpits and hyperhidrosis in the hands, is called primary. A bit like diaphoresis, it seems to have no precise causes except, in most cases, a certain familiarity. For this reason he can present you at any time in his life and without any kind of notice. Generally, it tends to increase when you get hot or feel particularly nervous.

The second, however, is also called secondary and can be linked to pathologies such as hyperthyroidism or. For this reason, when excessive sweating occurs it is always good to consult your doctor in order to rule out any pathologies for which hyperhidrosis is only one of the symptoms.

How to fight excessive sweating

When you have problems with heavy sweating it is very important to remedy them in a decisive way. Often, in fact, the risk is that of experiencing situations of severe discomfort that can compromise the quality of everyday life. This happens above all when the problem affects the hands or works are carried out for which excessive sweating can be both a practical and a social problem.

In addition to choosing to talk to someone about it to better deal with it from a psychological point of view, fortunately there are remedies for excessive sweating ranging from the use of antiperspirants, to iontophoresis, up to surgery .
