The arrival of the cold season always brings with it the much feared cold and flu. Headache, cough, sore throat and many other symptoms: these are the signs that you have been affected . Unfortunately, the prevention of this disease is not always simple but, by taking proper care, it is possible to reduce the symptoms and even the duration of the disease.

To cure flu and colds, it is not necessary to stuff oneself with drugs or resort to esoteric recipes. Everything we need can be found easily in our house: let’s discover four simple recipes to best treat flu and colds.

Oregano and thyme infusion

As previously stated, in order to treat flu and colds, it is not necessary to abuse drugs or resort to special recipes. You can intervene using simple ingredients that are easily found in our homes.

The first recipe is an infusion of oregano and thyme . In addition to being extremely simple to prepare, the infusion in question has excellent anti-inflammatory and disinfectant properties .

To prepare it, just a simple sachet of chamomile, to which we will add oregano , thyme and mallow leaves . To prepare it, just add all the ingredients to the boiling water, turn off the heat and wait ten minutes for the infusion to take place. Filter and drink.

Broth and velvety

Do you have the flu and, in addition to energy, do you lack appetite? A nice chicken and vegetable broth is for you. In fact, in addition to being rich in minerals and nutrients that will help the body to fight the ailment and find some of the lost energy, it is a cure-all for appetite. The quantity of chicken will always be in proportion to the water: 250g of meat , excluding bones, for half a liter.

An alternative to the classic chicken broth could be a vegetable cream soup. Enriched with a little cereal (spelled, rice, barley) it will help to purify the body during the flu period, shortening recovery times. The best vegetables? Cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli and savoy cabbage: they are rich in vitamin C.

Treating the flu with suffusions

One of the best known but also most effective remedies: suffixes . However, the incisiveness of a suffumigio depends on what is added to the boiling water .

If the purpose is to clear the obstructed airways , it is advisable to use chamomile (one sachet will be fine) paired with a teaspoon of baking soda. To combat flu and colds, use tea tree oil. Five drops the ideal dose.

For a successful suffumigio, a container will be enough to hold the hot water and a towel . By covering the head with the towel, we will prevent the steam from dispersing in the air, after which we will just have to breathe it with our mouths open.
