Hemorrhagic cystitis: what it consists of, how to recognize it and what are the treatments to eliminate a painful and persistent problem.
Hemorrhagic cystitis is a urinary tract infection that involves the bladder and can have very different symptoms and causes. For this reason it is important to learn to recognize it in order to carry out the right medical checks and understand its causes and relative solutions .
Hemorrhagic cystitis: the causes
Generally a bloody cystitis can occur for different reasons ranging from trauma to the bladder, to bacterial infections to more serious diseases .

For this reason, in the presence of blood in the urine, heartburn or other symptoms that suggest a possible bloody cystitis, it is very important to contact your doctor immediately. The latter, in fact, based on the symptoms, will be able to define the seriousness of the situation, establishing which treatments to proceed with.
What are the symptoms of hemorrhagic cystitis
As mentioned, the symptoms of hemorrhagic cystitis can vary based on several factors. Among the most common and worth mentioning are:
– Blood in the urine
– Urinary incontinence
– Need to urinate very often
– Pain in the bladder
– Burning and chills on urination
– Pain in the back or lower abdomen
– Higher temperature especially in the evening
It is important to remember that the presence of blood is not always an indication of cystitis and that even in its absence it is therefore important to consult a doctor, especially if you are in the presence of suspicious symptoms. In addition, there are tests in the pharmacy that help to trace invisible blood in the urine and which can be useful for an initial diagnosis.
That said, there is not one therapy for hemorrhagic cystitis, there are different types and they vary according to the causes and severity of the problem.
When this is in its initial phase, for example, you can try with natural remedies and with a greater intake of water. In some cases, medications such as diuretics may be needed. And in extreme cases, antibiotics, catheters or surgery may be required. However, these are really extreme cases that involve cystitis with blood in the urine at an advanced stage and now impossible to cure in other ways.
