How to prepare switchel, the natural energetic drink

Switchel: ingredients
This drink was already famous some centuries ago, but only recently it has start spreading again. It caught the interest of all the people who were looking for the most healthy energy drink.
The vast majority of energy drinks contains substances such as caffeine and taurine, which can be dangerous. Instead, switchel is made with natural and simple ingredients. You just need apple cider vinegar, ginger, honey and lemon.
Each one of these ingredients has famous beneficial properties for our body and a common feature: they contain a lot of vitamins, sugars, mineral salts and antioxidants. That’s just what we need after a workout or a tiring day!
Switchel: recipe
How to prepare switchel? It’s easy, you just need:

– 250ml of apple cider vinegar;
– 2 teaspoons of grated fresh ginger;
– 1 tablespoon of honey;
– 2 tablespoons of lemon juice;
– half a liter of water.
Pour all the ingredients in a bottle, close it and then shake until homogeneous. Store the bottle in the fridge and let your drink sit for at least 24 hours. Then, filter the mixture in a clean bottle. Your switchel is ready! You can keep it in your fridge for a few days. A piece of advice: if you want to make it less caloric, replace honey with maple syrup.

As we mentioned above, this drinks has many useful properties for our body, thanks to its ingredients. For example, apple cider vinegar is great to promote digestion and eliminate toxins. Ginger, instead, is well-known for its healing properties. It can protect the stomach and has toning and anti-inflammatory properties.
Honey has antiseptic and antiinflammatory powers: it is widely used method to cure many seasonal problems. If you replace it with maple syrup, remember it has many purifying effects. Finally, lemon is a great source of vitamin C, has antioxidant properties and it is famous for fighting cholesterol.
