Marseille soap, with a thousand benefits for hands and face

Marseille soap

Marseille soap is an ancient and completely natural detergent: let’s see what all its benefits are!

Modern life has accustomed us to using many different cleansers for face, body and hair care . Our grandmothers, on the other hand, used a single product, completely natural and very delicate: Marseille soap.

This soap takes its name from the French city of Marseille , where it was born in the distant 12th century. 100% natural, it is obtained from olive oil and does not contain animal fats, unlike the most common industrial soaps. Being a neutral and delicate soap, it can be used on all skin types, with significant benefits.

Marseille soap, if it is pure, is excellent for cleansing hands, face, body and hair, because it has soothing properties and is eudermic, meaning it respects normal skin conditions. While being delicate, it cleanses the skin thoroughly.

In addition to body hygiene, this soap can also be used for household cleaning and laundry, just like our grandmothers did.

Marseille soap: the uses

Marseille soap for the face is perfect, because it removes make-up residues (which must always be removed first with an oily make-up remover), impurities and excess sebum, without drying the skin. It is suitable for those with normal or sensitive skin, but also for those suffering from acne and pimples , because it has antibacterial properties , but does not dry the skin too much like sulfur soap does.

Thanks to its effectiveness and delicacy, it can also be used to wash hands and the whole body . Many doctors also recommend Marseille soap for intimate hygiene, because it respects the pH of these delicate areas and prevents infections.

In the past, a lot of Marseille soap was used for hair , but we advise you to avoid it if you have very long hair, as it could dry and knot it.
