Draining liquids is one of the processes our body does continuosly, without us even realizing it. Through urines, we eliminate all those substances that our kidneys filtered, and which build up in our bladder. Therefore, going to pee often during the day is important. It is a consequence of one of the best habits we can have: drinking a lot of water every day.

Sometimes, it can be difficult to eliminate toxins through urines. It is a complex problem: it is necessary to talk about your doctor, because it can mean something serious. However, if thid disorder is just linked to an aesthetic problem, such as water retention, we can try and keep it under control by paying attention to what we eat.

Diuretics and diet: the link

Against water retention, the first advice is to drink a lot. It is important to drink at least two liters of water every day. Choose a product without too much sodium, in order to avoid straining your kidneys. Moreover, you also need to pay attention to all those substances that hinder the elimination of liquids.

For example, proteins are fundamental in the diuretic process. However, a diet rich in proteins has the opposite effect, promoting a buildup of liquids. Even salt and sugar hold water, therefore it is better to eat them less, but not to give up on them!
