Every year, winter brings with it inflammatory viruses that involve our respiratory system and beyond. In recent years the so-called Coronavirus has made a lot of talk about itself because of its huge influence of contagion . It is a particular bacterium that involves RNA , the acid that intervenes in the processes of coding and regulating our genes.

But the new alert comes from China, with the 2019-nCov: we immediately find out what it is, its specific functioning and what the risks are.

Coronavirus 2019-nCov, what it is and how it works

In order to prevent and pay attention to the bacteria that winter brings with you, you need to know how they work in detail. This is the case of Coronavirus, the RNA virus that affects the respiratory tract causing infections and redness . These are particular capsulated viruses (i.e. with casing) between 80 and 160 nm in size.

They are the main proponents of colds, flu and parainfluenza viruses and we have seen them at work in the past with the spread of epidemics. The first is the one dating back to 2003 called SARS ( severe acute respiratory syndrome ) which had spread from bats to civets and finally to humans.

2012 was the year of the MERS epidemic ( Middle Eastern respiratory syndrome ) and 2014 that of the Ebola haemorrhagic fever virus . The new Coronavirus, which began to create an alert climate towards the end of 2019, comes from China and was called by the medical authorities with the abbreviation 2019-nCoV ( 2019 novel Coronavirus ).

Virus 2019-nCov, what you need to know

The outbreak of pneumonia called 2019-nCov originates from China and, in particular, from the city of Wuhan 800 km west from Shanghai. Similar in nature to the SARS and MERS viruses, it already has many cases (between China, Thailand and Korea) and a death that occurred in Wuhan.

The alarm was raised by the Chinese authorities and the Wuhan fish market was closed as of 1 January to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Unfortunately, in recent years this type of bacterium, initially spread only among animals, has adapted and evolved for human contagion . What can we say, in the meantime we can immediately prevent by choosing the right foods to increase the immune system !
