Pollen allergy is one of the most common allergies there are. Nonetheless, still not everyone is aware of having it. It generally occurs with the arrival of spring but in many other cases it can manifest itself as early as January. Among the most common symptoms are:

– Conjunctivitis
Runny nose
– Nasal congestion
– Tearing of the eyes
Allergic cough
– Sneezing
– Asthma

These symptoms are sometimes confused with those of a cold, leading to a late diagnosis of the problem, which makes life very difficult for sufferers.

Pollen allergy: remedies

In order to get relief from allergy symptoms it is important to undergo tests that are able to recognize it and identify the exact types of pollen to which you are allergic. This will make it easier to identify the times of the year in which to pay more attention to the symptoms.

Once the cause has been identified, you must avoid coming into contact with the substance that creates the allergy. In spring, therefore, it is important not to spend too much time in meadows or woods , wear a mask if you have no choice and remember to air the house only early in the morning. It would be even better to use mosquito nets and air filters, preferring an air conditioning system in the summer in order to defeat the heat without letting in allergens .

Furthermore, the allergist, based on the severity of the allergy, can prescribe drugs such as antihistamines, nasal corticosteroids or recommend natural substitutes such as, for example, ribes nigrum. In any case, it is always good to rely on the advice of an expert in order to avoid allergic crises which, although rarely, in some cases can even become serious .
