Pregnancy: Here are the foods you should avoid

Foods prohibited during pregnancy: let’s find out what they are and how to best manage them from a food point of view.
Pregnancy is a unique time for every woman. However, to spend it in the most peaceful way possible it is important to pay attention to several aspects. One of these is that of food . In fact, there are some foods to avoid during pregnancy or that should at least be limited and all in order to spend it in the best way.
What not to eat when pregnant
When you are expecting a baby, the way you feed yourself is extremely important for both the baby’s health and that of the mother. As also indicated by the Ministry of Health, every pregnant woman should choose healthy and nutrient-rich foods such as whole grains, lean proteins and healthy fats such as those of extra virgin olive oil.

At the same time, there are foods that should be avoided. Among these are:
– Refined sugars
– Sources of non-whole carbohydrates
– Foods rich in fat
– Packaged foods
– The sausages
– Raw dairy products
– Tea and coffee (to drink in moderation)
Of course, there are also some foods that are prohibited during pregnancy. These are raw eggs, raw meat and fish and, of course, alcohol .
Nutrition in pregnancy: some precautions
Having established which foods to avoid during pregnancy, it is also good to remember that, when it comes to nutrition, there are also several precautions to be taken.
For example, fruits and vegetables should always be washed carefully, especially if you are not immune to toxoplasmosis . On the contrary, meat should never be washed because in case of splashes, the risk of infections would be high. For the same reason, eggs should also never be washed. It is preferable to clean them with a cloth before consumption.
More generally, it is always better to avoid the consumption of foods whose exact origin is unknown. And all because in the event of food poisoning , depending on the stage of pregnancy in which you are, you risk compromising the health of the fetus (as well as that of the mother). This can be avoided with a little patience and attention.
