As we mentioned, it is the ideal ally against wrinkles, because it leave the skin soft and elastic. Since the 1980s, beauty brands have been using retinol to create their products. However, in the last years it seems a new substance has been replacing it. We’re talking about Bakuchiol, coming from the Indian flower Babchi. It seems it is even better than retinol!

Is retinol dangerous?

Even though on the Internet that are a lot of information about it, many people think this element is dangerous and aggressive. Actually, cosmetics only contain very small quantities of retinol, so it is does not harm our skin. In fact, even people with sensitive skin can use it.

The only thing you must remember is not to use it in the sunlight. If you expose retinol cosmetics to the Sun, they can increase the production of free radicals and provoke skin inflammations. Do not mistake it with retinoic acid: the latter is a medication, so it can be prescribed only by a doctor.
