Supplements for the skin (of the face and not): what they are, what they are used for and why they are effective

Skin supplements are a valuable aid to promote its elasticity and natural hydration, while counteracting the signs of aging.

When we talk about supplements for the skin, we mean everything that once taken can help it improve in appearance. We therefore range from the right foods to be taken in the diet, to skin-friendly vitamins, to herbal supplements. And all coming to the strongest ones and to be taken by mouth, which are usually based on substances such as collagen and hyaluronic acid.

How to distinguish the various skin supplements

As already mentioned, there is no single supplement for the skin. Indeed, the strategies put in place is usually the right choice to be able to count on a more rapid and efficient effect.

You should therefore start with good hydration and a targeted diet that should contain fruit, vegetables and legumes to which to add a few noble proteins, as they are rich in collagen.

As for vitamins, the best known and most effective are certainly those that help the skin improve: vitamin E , which has always been considered a supplement for the skin, and vitamin C which stimulates the natural production ofcollagen . To these you can add herbal products such as tea tree oil or burdock.
Finally, as already mentioned, there are also more targeted supplements. Among these it is important to remember those based on collagen and hyaluronic acid. Useful to improve the skin and to stimulate the production of collagen.

How to take care of the skin through integration

The first rule for taking care of your skin is to eat healthily by always choosing the most suitable foods. To this it is good to combine the correct cleaning of the face (especially when putting on make-up) and the use of products that do not irritate the skin , thus avoiding the formation of micro wrinkles.

Then there are lotions and creams that can be of great help and to which you can add the intake of supplements, such as those indicated above, and to be chosen according to the needs of your skin and age. Hyaluronic acid and collagen, for example, are to be considered as shock supplements . And this even though there are already products dedicated to the very young that contain a small part of it. What matters is not to overdo it and always choose what you really need. In this way the skin will not be overloaded and will remain healthy and young for longer.
