Let’s see what is the seasonal fruit in winter that should never be missing in the diet, to raise the immune system and stay healthy.
Eating fruit is important all year round, but it becomes even more important in winter, when we need to fill up on vitamins, to raise the immune system .
Winter fruit is perhaps less varied than summer fruit, but no less tasty. From oranges to apples, let’s see which are all the winter fruits that should never be missing at the table.
What is the seasonal fruit in winter
– Citrus fruits. Oranges, tangerines, grapefruits and lemons are rich in vitamins. In particular, the orange contains a lot of vitamin C, essential for preventing seasonal ailments; the mandarin is rich not only in vitamin C, but also in niacin and folic acid; grapefruit contains vitamins A, C and B, but also fiber and flavonoids; lemon is a source of vitamin C and has a purifying and detoxifying effect on the body.
– Kiwi. The only fruits that contain more vitamin C than citrus fruits are kiwis. They are also a source of vitamin E, copper, iron and fiber. They are excellent for strengthening the immune system, combat constipation, normalize cholesterol levels in the blood and improve circulation.
– Apple. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” , says the proverb and it’s true: the apple is a source of vitamins and minerals, in particular vitamin C and potassium. Vitamin C, as we have already seen, strengthens the immune system, potassium ensures the proper functioning of the muscles and regulates blood pressure.
– Pomegranate. The pomegranate fruit is very precious, because it contains B vitamins, vitamins C and K, as well as mineral salts, including calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc and manganese. It is beneficial for the heart, as it helps lower cholesterol levels, and has anticancer properties .
