How to clean the microwave quickly and safely? How often should you do it? Here are the DIY remedies and advice based on degreasing and sanitizing products.

Who uses the microwave very often cannot neglect its cleaning! You don’t necessarily have to clean it every day, but it must be done at least once a week ; if you use it infrequently, however, simply clean the microwave from time to time with a splash of water and lemon.

Not everyone, however, knows how to clean the microwave and consequently tend to postpone this task . Very good, but expensive and chemical-based products can be found on the market. So bring natural products and friends of the environment , like the everlasting ever: lemon and vinegar. Let’s see how to degrease and make the surfaces and shelves of the microwave shine using only natural products !

How to clean the microwave naturally

– Very often, food residues can fall on the walls and on the tray, leaving unpleasant odors. Lemon juice is an excellent natural remedy that has always been used by grandmothers to neutralize odors . Mix the juice of half a lemon with 100 ml of warm water and clean the surfaces directly. The cooking plate will be brighter and the walls will look like new.

– Another eco friendly and super effective product is wine vinegar . For best results, boil 100 ml of vinegar in 200 ml of water. Let it cool down and wait for it to become warm before using it. The result? Sanitized and shiny surfaces . Initially, you will smell the strong vinegar but within a couple of hours it will go away. If it bothers you, you can neutralize it with lemon.

– To say the least, the marvelous degreasing and sanitizing action of the classic sodium bicarbonate . Put the racks and shelves to soak in water and baking soda by adding drops of tea tree oil. This oil has fantastic antibacterial and disinfectant properties , ideal for kitchen hygiene. Leave the products to act for about half an hour and then rinse. As for the internal parts, instead, prepare a mixture with 50 ml of water, two tablespoons of baking soda and 10 drops of tea tree oil. Mix well and rub the mixture where necessary.

-To keep the microwave always clean, put a glass of water and a half of vinegar in a bowl. Heat at maximum temperature for 5 minutes until steam is released. You will thus be able to sanitize and degrease without any effort . The only thing to do is to pass a damp cloth on the surfaces to eliminate the dirt dissolved by the steam.
