How to clean the microwave quickly and safely? How often should it be done? Here are the do-it-yourself remedies and advice based on degreasing and sanitizing products.
Those who use the microwave very often cannot neglect its cleaning! It does not necessarily have to be cleaned every day, but it must be done at least once a week ; if you use it infrequently, it is sufficient to clean the microwave from time to time with a splash of water and lemon.
Not everyone, however, knows how to clean the microwave and consequently they tend to postpone this task . On the market you can find very good, but expensive and chemical-based products. Therefore, equip yourselves with natural and environmentally friendly products , like the evergreen ones: lemon and vinegar. Let’s see how to degrease and make microwave surfaces and shelves shine again using only natural products !

How to clean the microwave naturally
– Food residues can fall on the walls and on the tray very often, leaving unpleasant odors. An excellent natural remedy that has always been used by grandmothers to neutralize odors is lemon juice. Mix the juice of half a lemon with 100 ml of warm water and clean the surfaces directly. The cooking plate will be brighter and the walls will be as good as new.
-Another eco friendly and super effective product is wine vinegar . For best results, boil 100ml of vinegar in 200ml of water. Let it cool and wait for it to get lukewarm before using it. The result? Sanitized and shiny surfaces . Initially, you will smell the strong vinegar but within a couple of hours it will go away. If it bothers you, you can neutralize it with lemon.
– To say the least extraordinary, the prodigious degreasing and sanitizing action of the classic sodium bicarbonate . Put the grids and shelves to soak in water and bicarbonate by adding drops of tea tree oil. This oil has fantastic antibacterial and disinfectant properties , ideal for kitchen hygiene. Let the products act for about half an hour and then rinse. As for the internal parts, however, prepare a mixture with 50 ml of water, two tablespoons of bicarbonate and 10 drops of tea tree oil. Mix well and rub the mixture where needed.
-To keep the microwave always clean, put a glass of water and a half of vinegar in a bowl. Heat at maximum temperature for 5 minutes until steam is released. In this way you will be able to sanitize and degrease without any effort . The only thing to do is to wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth to remove the dirt dissolved by the steam.
