A precious oleolith is extracted from the wintergreen plants , also known as wintergreen essential oil . Considered a real natural anti-inflammatory, it contains methyl salicylate, in a percentage of at least 95%.
Wintergreen boasts important properties : anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, analgesic, warming, vasodilator and antiprotozoal. Therefore, it is indicated to combat muscle inflammation, contractures, cramps, rheumatism, external traumas, hematomas, tendonitis and all the problems connected to excessive efforts. Furthermore, it is recommended in the presence of problems related to the circulatory system and the reproductive and urinary systems.

Wintergreen essential oil, unlike almost all of its peers, shouldn't be used in the diffuser. To fully enjoy the many benefits, you can use it for a relaxing bath or for a footbath. As for topical applications, perhaps in case of cramps or other muscle ailments, it should always be diluted with a carrier oil.
On the side of contraindications , considering that wintergreen should not be used by those who are allergic to salicylates, or components such as linalool and limonene. Those suffering from epilepsy, eczema, ulcers and asthma should also stay away from it, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. In any case, remember never to overdo the doses: 3/4 drops are enough to obtain the benefits listed above.
