Having said that, tarragon is excellent when added to salads or when preparing some sauces such as tartare and BĂ©arnaise. Excellent for flavoring eggs , meat or fish, it also goes well with vegetables such as potatoes, onions, asparagus and tomatoes. Those who love flavored foods will appreciate adding it to butter or cream to make different dishes tastier.
Where to find tarragon
In Italy it is difficult to find spontaneous cultivations of tarragon. For this reason, the only way to have a good supply of it in the kitchen is to grow it. If you want to grow it at home, you can buy it at a nursery , making sure it's organic. Once this is done, it will be enough to make it grow and take care of it in the best possible way.
To plant it you have to wait for the period between March and April and choose a fertile soil where it is possible to dig deep enough. Furthermore, it needs a lot of light, which is why it is particularly important to find a strategic point at home. Another possibility is to grow tarragon in pots, remembering that the right time to harvest it is between May and June. By doing so, the tarragon will be available for at least 4 years . After this period of time, it will tend to lose its aroma, which is why it is important to get a new one and start all over again.
Making use of tarragon is certainly useful and beneficial for health. And from today, it will be even easier to have it in the kitchen, fully enjoying its aroma and all the good things it can do for both our dishes and health.
