Mallow herbal tea is a panacea in case of cough and sore throat but its properties certainly do not end there. Here's how it's prepared.
Mallow herbal tea is a natural remedy for various problems, from those related to the respiratory tract , such as coughs and throat diseases, to intestinal ones. Suffice it to say that the very name of the plant, which we have probably all seen at least once without knowing how to identify it, means emollient . An herbal tea or a mallow decoction are perfect for combating the symptoms of colds , constipation and menstrual pain as well as some fungal infections.
All these properties are due to the presence of Flavonoids, Mucilage, Anthocyanins, Tannins, Terpenes and Phenols. Among the other properties attributable to mallow is its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal power, as well as its analgesic , antioxidant and anti- inflammatory properties. Great then, you ran to buy some flowers and dried mallow leaves to prepare your herbal tea: but how?
How to prepare the recipe for herbal tea with mallow
- Put 2 to 5 g of mallow (leaves and/or flowers) in a cup or in the special infuser .
- Bring 200 ml of water to the boil and pour it over the dried herbs, leaving to macerate for 10 minutes.
- Filter everything and consume, sweetening to taste with honey .
To reinforce the emollient and anti-inflammatory power of the mallow in case of cough and sore throat, we advise you to sweeten it with eucalyptus honey . In this case, ginger tea is also perfect.
Furthermore, once the plant has been identified, you can prepare homemade mallow tea by collecting flowers and leaves between July and August and drying them. They keep for over a year in an airtight glass jar.
