Trout baked in foil is perhaps one of the simplest ways to cook this fish. In fact, even the less experienced will be able to obtain tender and succulent meat as well as being well flavoured. Preparing trout in foil in an air fryer doesn't make much difference compared to the traditional oven since we have already underlined several times that this appliance is nothing more than a small ventilated oven.

So get yourself some aromatic herbs to taste and get ready to cook the best baked trout ever. If your fryer is small compared to the size of the fish, don't worry: ask the fishmonger to prepare the fillets directly and proceed as per the recipe.

How to prepare the recipe for trout baked in foil in the air fryer

  1. First make sure the trout is well cleaned. You can carry out this operation yourself or ask the fishmonger to do it for you. Place 2 slices of lemon inside the belly , a clove of garlic also cut into slices and season with a pinch of salt.
  2. Place it in the center of a wet and wrung out sheet of baking paper then season it with a pinch of salt.
  3. Sprinkle the surface with aromatic herbs. We chose oregano and thyme but you can vary as you like. Drizzle with a drizzle of oil then close the parcel , sealing the sides well and place in the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook at 180°C for about 20 minutes, making sure that the meat is very pale and comes away well from the bone.

As mentioned at the beginning, you can also prepare the trout baked in foil using clean fish fillets or, for an even tastier version, opt for salmon trout fillets . If you are looking for something more substantial and refined, then try the stuffed squid in the air fryer : they are delicious!

storage

Once cooked, we advise you to clean the trout and keep only the cleaned fillets with the seasoning in the refrigerator. This way they will keep for a couple of days and you can enjoy them after reheating them.
