With its crunchy casing and rich filling, the air fryer Easter cake is perfect for both Easter and Easter Monday.
When Easter is upon us it means that it's time to show off one of the tastiest and richest savory pie recipes ever which this year, however, we will cook differently. We are talking about the Easter cake in the air fryer, an excellent appetizer and the perfect idea for the Easter Monday trip.
The filling, as many will know, is based on ricotta and spinach to which eggs broken on the surface are added. Everything will then cook together, giving the cut a truly original appearance. Let's see how to proceed to obtain the correct cooking of this savory pie in the air fryer.
How to prepare the Easter cake recipe in the air fryer
- First, wash the spinach and place it in a pan without seasoning . Cover with the lid and let it simmer over medium heat. Once tender, drain them and squeeze them with your hands to remove excess water.
- Chop them with a knife and combine them in a bowl together with an egg, ricotta and grated parmesan. Mix and season with salt and nutmeg.
- Unroll the puff pastry (we recommend the rectangular one) and spread the filling on half of it, keeping a couple of centimeters from the edge.
- With the back of the spoon , make two indentations and crack an egg in the center of each.
- Close the puff pastry, sealing everything around well, then cook at 180°C for about 20 minutes.
- Let it cool before serving.
