Zombie cocktail
From a long tradition comes the Zombie cocktail, an easy-to-make Tiki drink starting from a rum base.
The Zombie cocktail is a drink with a long tradition which, according to some testimonies, dates back to 1934. Its creation is due to Ernest Raymond Beaumont Gannt, known as Donn Beach , who served this drink as a "repairer for broken dreams". In fact, this drink is a much loved Tiki drink, due to its particular taste. It is a drink with a fruity aftertaste and made fresh by the presence of lime juice.
The most important part is the alcoholic heart, characterized by the presence of various types of rum ; among these there are white rum and dark rum, but also an overproof one. Various other ingredients, typical of this preparation and which cannot be missing, make this drink truly unique. To prepare it as good as the original, you need to get Falernum and Don's mix. In short, an alcoholic blend but with a captivating taste, which is sweet and velvety, capable of conquering everyone.
Preparing the recipe for the Zombie cocktail
- The first thing to do is put ice in the bowl of a blender.
- To this, you can add the main alcoholic part of the drink, namely: light rum, dark rum and Demerara rum.
- Proceed with the lime juice, which must be very fresh; then, Falernum and grenadine, which is a sweet syrup.
- Finish with a splash of Angostura and a few drops of Pernod (3-4 will be enough).
- At this point, blend everything for a few seconds, about 10-20 .
- As soon as it is ready, pour the drink into glasses and decorate. Among the best ingredients to decorate it in a tasty way, you can use powdered ginger, cloves and exotic fruits, to make the cocktail even tastier.
Conservation
The Zombie cocktail is a sweet alcoholic drink with a fruity aftertaste, very good for cooling off during an aperitif. The best advice is to serve it as soon as it is ready .
