Preparing the recipe for drunken tofu

  1. Take a piece of tofu and roll it in a dry cloth . Press lightly along all edges, to eliminate any liquid inside. This way, it will absorb the wine more easily.
  2. Cut it into not very large cubes with a knife.
  3. Transfer them to a container (with an airtight seal) and sprinkle them with enough salt.
  4. Pour the red wine over, just enough to cover the entire bottom of the container and wet each cube.
  5. Spread some garlic, finely chopped.
  6. Close the container and marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour . The longer the marinating time, the tastier the result will be.
  7. After this time, pour the cornstarch into a bowl.
  8. Take one cube of tofu at a time and roll it in the starch, then place it on a tray (distanced from the others).
  9. Once done, take a non-stick pan and fill the bottom with a drizzle of oil. Turn on medium heat and immerse the cubes. Fry them on both sides until a crispy crust forms on the outside. Then, place them to dry on a tray covered with absorbent paper.
  10. Season with salt and pepper and leave to cool.

Conservation

To make drunken tofu even tastier, lengthen the marinating times. Subsequently, you can store this product in an airtight container, in the fridge , for up to 3 days .
