Soy sauce chicken with vegetables is a simple dish that combines the sweetness of the meat with the crunchiness of the vegetables. The soy sauce then adds energy, flavor and gives that oriental flavor that is so popular.
Before starting, here is a tip that will be very useful to you especially if you are not very familiar with this ingredient: as always when you use soy sauce – already very tasty – you must pay close attention to the amount of salt you add to the preparation. For the rest, the recipe does not hide any particular pitfalls.

- Chicken breast – 500 g
- Soy sauce – 50 ml
- Carrot – 1
- Courgette – 1
- Spring onion – 2
- Savoy cabbage – 100 g
- Seed oil – 3 tablespoons
Preparation
How to make soy sauce chicken with vegetables
First, prepare the vegetables: clean the spring onions and cut them into slices using only the white and light green parts. Wash and peel the carrots and cut them into cubes or slices. Wash the courgettes , remove the top parts and cut them into slices. Wash the savoy cabbage and chop it into strips.
Cut the chicken breast into strips and set aside.
Take a non-stick pan, pour in two tablespoons of seed oil and salt the vegetables over high heat for 5-7 minutes . They must cook but remain crunchy: this way you preserve their flavor and nutritional properties.
Add the chicken and brown it over high heat. Add the soy sauce and cook everything: it will take about 20 minutes . Distribute on plates and serve.
Soy sauce chicken can also be prepared with different vegetables. For example, it is excellent with only courgettes, carrots and peppers. Furthermore, to make the flavor even more oriental, add a finger of grated ginger and a clove of minced garlic to the vegetables during the first stages of cooking.
Soy chicken with the classic recipe
For this recipe you will need the following ingredients.
- 500 g of chicken.
- 60 ml of soy sauce.
- 30 g of acacia honey.
- To prepare this quick and easy recipe, you can choose whether to start with the whole breast and cut it yourself, or for a quicker solution, you can buy the chicken pieces already cut.
- Start marinating. In a bowl, place the soy sauce, honey (we recommend acacia honey as it does not have a strong flavor that could cover the other flavours) and the chicken. Marinate for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- After that, take a non-stick pan and pour in a drizzle of oil. Pour the marinated chicken and honey-soy seasoning into the pan.
- Cook for 10 minutes , until the liquid has dried and the chicken has become caramelised. If your sauce runs out before 10 minutes, add a little more soy sauce.

Conservation
Chicken with soya and vegetables is a delicious second course that can be kept in the fridge for around 2-3 days in a container with an airtight lid. We do not recommend freezing in the freezer.
