In just a few minutes you will get a delicious drink to enjoy as a dessert after a meal or for a refreshing summer snack. For the locals it is customary to consume it instead of the usual breakfast, with whipped cream and accompanied by the famous brioche with tuppo !

Preparation of the almond granita recipe with the Thermomix

  1. Place the almonds in a pan with boiling water for two minutes .
  2. Drain them and let them cool on a clean cloth, then rub to remove the skin.
  3. Pour the sugar into the Thermomix jug and operate for 30 seconds. speed 9.
  4. Using a spatula , drop the sugar remaining on the sides to the bottom and repeat the operation.
  5. Add the blanched almonds and pulverize them for 30 seconds. speed 8 and finish obtaining a homogeneous mixture.
  6. Add ice for 30 seconds. speed 8.
  7. Finally pour the milk at the same speed for 10 seconds .
  8. Transfer the granita into dessert glasses and serve to your guests… what a delight!

Variations for the almond granita

  • You can replace the whole milk with almond milk or simply with a scoop of water .
  • Flavor if you like with a sprinkling of cinnamon on the surface when serving.
  • Instead of using whole almonds, you can prepare an almond granita with almond paste with the Thermomix: you will need 1 teaspoon of icing sugar, 60 ml of milk and 600 g of ice, and finally adding a stick of 300 g almond paste pieces to melt for 3 minutes at 80°C on speed 3 .
  • To speed up the preparation of the granita you can also use already peeled almonds or leave the skin and obtain a more rustic granita.

Conservation

Store the almond granita in the freezer in an airtight container for about a month . Before serving, bring it back to room temperature and scrape it with a spoon to serve.
