Apple chips are a delicious snack, let's see how to prepare them with very few steps and just 4 ingredients.

Apple chips are more than a dessert. They are a delicious snack that can be enjoyed at any time of the day: at school, at work or even during a relaxing Sunday in the mountains. The recipe for preparing them is very easy, just remember to dip the apple slices in the lemon to prevent them from blackening , and place them directly on the baking tray covered with baking paper.

If you can't find Red Delicious ones, use another type of apple, as long as they are nice and crunchy and floury .

Preparation of apple chips

  1. Begin preparing the apple chips by squeezing the lemon juice and setting it aside.
  2. Now wash the apples well, dry them with a clean cloth and remove the central core with the appropriate corer (you can also omit this step).
  3. Using a mandolin, cut the apples into very thin rings (maximum 2 mm) and sprinkle them with lemon juice to prevent them from blackening.
  4. At this point, place them neatly on a baking tray covered with baking paper (a double batch may be necessary).
  5. Mix a few tablespoons of icing sugar with ground cinnamon ( doses to taste depending on your taste).
  6. At this point sprinkle the powder on the apples and bake them in a preheated oven, at 80/90° C for about 2-3 hours .
  7. Once the time has passed, turn them, sprinkle them with more sugar and cinnamon if desired and continue cooking for another 2 hours until they are completely dry.

Conservation

Place the chips in a glass container with an airtight cap and store them in a cool, dry place, away from sources of light and heat, even for 1 week . We do not recommend freezing in the freezer.
