The ease with which you can prepare a vegan dessert is disarming. In particular, this apple custard is something unique, perfect not only for filling cakes but also enjoyed on its own, or even spread on toast for breakfast.

Preparing it is simple and we will not use eggs, milk or flour . The result is a vegan custard that is also perfect for those who suffer from lactose and gluten intolerance . Let's find out together how to prepare it!

Vegetable milk

How to prepare apple cream

  1. Peel the apples , core them and cut them into chunks.
  2. In a pan, heat the soy milk with the rice cream and the apples, leaving the latter to cook for 15 minutes. At the end they should be tender, almost ruined.
  3. Blend everything with the immersion blender to obtain a smooth and homogeneous consistency, then add the corn starch dissolved in a drop of milk and the grated lemon zest.
  4. Put everything back on the heat and let it thicken, stirring constantly so that the cream does not stick.
  5. Once cooked, add the agave syrup (alternatively maple syrup is fine). This way you will obtain a custard without artificial sugars , perfect even for the little ones.

Your custard without eggs or milk is ready to enrich your desserts. Try it instead of the traditional one, to prepare an excellent vegan tart !

However, if you decide to use traditional sugar, choose cane sugar and add it at the beginning, together with the milk and cream. Since it sweetens more than syrup, 50/60 g will be enough. To flavor the cream you can use vanilla instead of lemon, or create a spicier version with cinnamon . Do you love ethnic flavors? Don't miss the cardamom !
