Let's prepare the fantastic octopus with peas, a fish-based second course with a delicious combination.

The recipe for octopus with peas is very simple and, if you still know them, octopus are very similar to small octopuses; we distinguish them by the color of their flesh, which ranges from reddish to pink, and by the fact that they have a single row of suckers on their tentacles. It is a product with a very tender pulp and a very tasty consistency. Their flavor, in fact, combines tasty with the sweetness of the peas. The two main ingredients create an unusual but also very tasty combination. This second fish dish is very tasty, light and genuine. The octopus requires fairly slow cooking, but – don't worry – because preparing them is very simple!

Preparing the recipe for octopus with peas

  1. If the fishmonger has cleaned the octopus, you can move on to the next step, otherwise clean the fish completely.
  2. In any case, wash the meats under running water and dry them.
  3. Pour the olive oil into the bottom of a large pan; add the garlic cut in half and, if you prefer, also a chopped chilli pepper.
  4. Fry for a few seconds on high heat, then add the octopus.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes, over high heat and stirring often.
  6. Subsequently, add the wine and let it evaporate completely. Then, season with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover the pan with the lid and let everything cook for about 75 minutes over low heat (the cooking duration may vary depending on the size of the meat).
  8. Once done, you can remove the garlic. Add the peas and, if you prefer to make the dish richer, also the tomato sauce.
  9. Cook for another 10 minutes, uncovered, until the fish is soft. Once finished, you can turn off and plate.

storage

Despite the long cooking, the flavor of the octopus with peas makes up for all the waiting time and makes your lunch special. You can keep them in the fridge for 2-3 days .
