Baked salmon
Fish recipes are often complex and require many steps. This is why today we offer you baked salmon in all its simplicity.
Baked salmon is perhaps one of the simplest fish main courses you can prepare. Tender, succulent and rich in flavor, it does not require great skill to prepare. The best way to proceed is to cook the salmon steak in the oven, so that thanks to the larger size you won't risk overcooking it, but no one is stopping you from using fillets .
In order to appreciate all the flavor of this fish, we advise you not to overdo it with the aromas. In fact, parsley, oil and lemon will be enough to obtain tasty and tender baked salmon fillets, perfect even for the little ones. Accompanied by a simple salad or baked potatoes they will transform into a refined second course , perfect even if you have guests.
Ingredients
For the baked salmon
- Fresh or defrosted salmon – 4 slices
- Extra virgin olive oil – 4 tablespoons
- Lemon juice – 4 tablespoons
- Parsley – 1 sprig
- Salt – to taste
- Pepper – to taste
Preparation
How to prepare the baked salmon recipe
First of all, remove the bones from the fish using tweezers. You can also leave the skin on as it will come off easily once cooked. Then place your salmon steaks on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Separately, create an emulsion with oil , parsley , lemon juice , very little salt and pepper (salt is also optional, in our opinion sea fish almost never needs it).
Pour it over the fish, massage and bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes . Serve the baked salmon piping hot.
This is just one of the ways to cook salmon in the oven, perfect if you have little time and/or are a beginner. However, it is possible to take this recipe to a further leap in quality by adding chopped pistachios or flaked almonds to the surface of the fish before cooking.
For a richer and more spectacular version, ideal if you are looking for a second course for your Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve menu, it is salmon in a potato crust .
Conservation
You can keep cooked salmon for 1-2 days in the refrigerator, while it is not advisable to freeze it because this fish would lose much of its consistency in the freezer.
