Basil cubes: how to preserve the aromatic plant in two steps (with photos and videos)

Preparation of basil cubes
1. First of all , wash the basil leaves thoroughly and carefully remove them from the stem.
2. Once cleaned with cold running water, dab them with a cloth and dry them completely.
3. Finely chop the basil with a crescent or blend it all together with a hand blender. Add a little extra virgin olive oil so that it mixes well.
4. Now take the container for the freezer cubes and distribute the mixture inside.
5. Place in the freezer for a few hours and use it if necessary, or once frozen, remove your nuggets and always keep them in the freezer in a freezer bag .

Of fundamental importance for the success of your cubes is to always use fresh and freshly picked basil , as well as high quality EVO oil . If you want a more rustic result, in our opinion you absolutely have to chop the leaves with a knife (or mezzaluna) and then set the mixture with the oil.
