How to prepare cooked ham rolls

  1. First, get some slices of cooked ham that are a little thicker than normal. We advise you to have them specially sliced by the butcher.
  2. Separately, in a bowl, mix the spreadable cheese with some fresh chopped chives.
  3. Place the ham slices on the work surface and fill them with 1 generous spoonful of filling.
  4. Roll up the rolls and place them on a serving plate.

Rolls are a great way to present meat-based dishes too. Try our chicken rolls for example, you will taste how delicious they are!

Breaded rolls cooked and cheese

The variant breaded and cooked in the oven (or in a pan)

You can also prepare this delicious aperitif or finger food in a second version: breading and cooking in the oven or in a pan with hot oil.

  1. Prepare the slices of ham and replace the filling with a stick of soft cheese such as scamorza or provola.
  2. Wrap the rolls well and close them, first bringing the sides towards the center, then rolling. This way you will form a sort of package and the cheese will not come out during cooking.
  3. Then bread them first by passing them on a plate with 1 beaten egg, then on a second plate with breadcrumbs so as to seal them properly.
  4. Place each roll in a baking dish and drizzle with a drizzle of oil before baking at 180°C for 20 minutes . Alternatively, heat a generous dose of olive oil in a pan and cook them for a few minutes, until the breading is golden brown.
  5. Serve the ham and cheese rolls hot and melting.

storage

We recommend storing the rolls, both in the cooked and uncooked versions, in the fridge for a maximum of 1-2 days , preferably in a special container with a lid. We do not recommend freezing in the freezer.
