Fendi’s eclectic minimalism: fall/winter 2023-2024 at MFW 2023

Autumn winter fashion show

Young, audacious, elegant, contemporary and archival: Fendi's winter collection enchants and makes you dream.

Less is more for some years under the loving creative direction of Kim Jones seems to be Fendi's favorite motto, which draws from the iconic archive garments for each collection, formulating with rigor and cleanliness minimal outfits that never miss the eccentric detail : an asymmetrical cut, a logo that pops out, a mini bag as precious as a jewel. It is a contemporary and refined elegance but not cloying and already seen, which feeds collection after collection a linear dress code but always ready to renew itself. And once again, the winter of the Rome maison makes us fall in love just as Jones never tires of renewing his devotion to the female Fendi dynasty, from Silvia Venturini to her daughter Delfina.

Fendi fall/winter 2023-2024: a collection that draws on the archive and pays homage to the style of Delfina Delettrez Fendi

Delfina Delettrez Fendi, daughter of Silvia Venturini and responsible for the jewelery department of the maison, inspired the vision of this latest collection with her style, as stated by the creative director himself: “ The first time Delfina came to work she was dressed in blue and brown and I thought it looked great. The way she interprets the Fendi style is chic and perverse at the same time ."

Therefore, it is no coincidence that in the Fendi autumn/winter 2023-2024 the color block combinations, in the geometry of a long ribbed knit dress where orange, brown and fuchsia coexist in a lively balance or in the mix of garments and accessories, are a constant to be combined even with total looks in basic and neutral nuance palettes such as brown, black, gray, frequent protagonists of the collection.

Once again everything starts from archival pieces: logoed overcoats, sheath dresses, deconstructed suits retrieved from the 90s, revisited in combinations and colours. A discourse that involves the garments as well as the accessories.

Look inspo and trends from the fashion show for next winter: Fendi it-bags, asymmetrical cuts, long and midi skirts

“There is a deconstruction, but a luxury one. There is something punk but that turns into chic” : this is how Kim Jones summarized the essence of the Fendi winter collection, which in effect tries to escape any label by suggesting a wardrobe with clean, balanced lines, we dare say the perfect one in where you can find an effective slip dress but also a casual dress to wear every day.

Just as you can also find the original office look that combines a suit and long pleated skirt to combine with a pair of cuissardes and unconventional knitwear that feeds on asymmetries and cut outs, referring to that rediscovered sensuality that is infecting the catwalks and inspiring the stylists. The mini bag is particularly observed: pochette, handbag, shoulder bag, from the iconic baguette to Fendi First for the next it-bags to buy we can only let ourselves be inspired by Fendi's classics and new entries.
