The four seasons pizza is a variation of the traditional margherita, which is stuffed with black olives, mushrooms, raw ham and artichokes. The ingredients are the same as the famous capricciosa , but there is only one difference, albeit substantial : the quattro italiani is stuffed in segments , creating four different flavors that make it unique in its kind.

The dough is the classic homemade pizza that we have already proposed to you several times but if you want you can also follow your usual recipe and let us guide you only for the filling. Let's go and prepare it right away!

Ingredients

For the dough

  • Flour 00 – 400 g
  • Water – 200 g
  • Fresh brewer's yeast – 12 g
  • Fine salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Extra virgin olive oil – 2 tablespoons

For the filling

  • Tomato sauce – 350 g
  • Mozzarella – 3
  • Black olives – 70 g
  • Artichokes in oil – 16
  • Mushrooms in oil – 16
  • Cooked ham – 6 slices
  • Extra virgin olive oil – to taste
  • Fine salt – to taste

Preparation

How to prepare the four seasons pizza recipe

Let's start with the dough. Dissolve the yeast in warm water . Place the flour in a mound on the pastry board or, if you are not familiar with it, in a bowl. Pour the water into the center and start kneading, adding oil and salt only when it has taken consistency. Finish working on the pastry board long enough to obtain a smooth and elastic dough.

Then leave it to rise in the clean and oiled bowl for an hour and a half. Once the first leavening has passed, divide it into 4 loaves and leave them to rise covered for another hour and a half.

Then roll them out one by one, preferably by hand and not with a rolling pin, until you obtain a disc. Stuff first with the tomato sauce flavored with a pinch of salt , then with the mozzarella.

Distribute the other ingredients by recreating four slices: the artichokes in one, the mushrooms in the other, finally the olives. Leave the side intended for the ham uncovered for now: you will insert it at the end of cooking.

Complete with a drizzle of oil and cook in the oven at 200°C for 20 minutes . When cooked, add the ham and serve.

The 4 seasons pizza is a classic but you can't help but be amazed when you find this delight divided into its four flavours. We also love it because we can enjoy different flavors in one go. Clearly you can also customize it and obtain combinations of always different ingredients, also based on the ingredients you have in the refrigerator.

Conservation

Homemade pizza will keep for a couple of days wrapped in foil. Reheat in the oven or air fryer before enjoying.
