It is difficult to explain why, but these two ingredients together make sparks. That's why we wanted to prepare a very soft orange and chocolate cake, excellent for breakfast, as a snack but also to be served at the end of a meal.
The dark dough, enriched with cocoa , remains soft and moist at the right point, despite the fact that it is a cake without butter or milk. In fact, the eggs and the few other ingredients required by the recipe will be enough to obtain an amazing dessert. As for the oranges instead, choose organic ones as we are going to use the peel.
How to prepare the orange and chocolate cake recipe
- Start by breaking the eggs into a bowl and adding the sugar. Whip with electric whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Still with the whips in action, at medium-low speed, mix in the oil and orange juice.
- Now it's the turn of the dry ingredients : flour, sifted yeast and cocoa and grated orange peel. Mix with a kitchen spatula to obtain a homogeneous and lump-free dough then transfer it to a 22-24 cm diameter springform mold.
- Bake at 180 ° C for 50-60 minutes doing the toothpick test before taking out.
- Once cold, remove from the mold and serve decorating as desired with a sprinkling of icing sugar.
