For a light and easy appetizer, we can prepare the fried gnocco in the air fryer, to serve with cured meats and cheeses.

From the gastronomic tradition of Emilia Romagna comes the recipe for fried gnocco, prepared in an air fryer. That's right, from today there is an even easier and faster procedure for serving this tasty typical Romagna product. These are small squares of tasty dough, which should be fried and enjoyed. To make everything even more delicious and lighter, we use the air fryer. With this small appliance, frying is lighter because it does not require additional use of oil. With little fat but lots of goodness, this appetizer can be served with cured meats and cheeses.

Preparing the recipe for fried dumplings in the air fryer

  1. To begin, pour half the water into a saucepan and heat it.
  2. Then, immediately immerse the yeast in the water, crumbling it ; then, mix, add the sugar and wait for it to dissolve.
  3. Sifting the flour , pour it into a bowl. Dig a well in the center and add the water and yeast mixture.
  4. Begin kneading with your fingers and gradually add a little water at a time; then, add the oil to the mixture.
  5. When it begins to solidify, add a pinch of salt. Work everything for about ten minutes, until the dough is firm and homogeneous.
  6. Once finished, oil a large bowl and place the dough in it; cover with a cloth and let rise for 2 hours .
  7. After this time, bring the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out using a rolling pin until it is about 1-2 cm thick .
  8. When the pastry is thin enough, cut it into several squares.
  9. Brush them with a little oil and place them in the air fryer basket; be careful not to overlap them.
  10. Cook at 120°C for 5 minutes ; when finished, they are ready to serve.

Fried gnocco, made in an air fryer, is a typical product of Emilia Romagna which is tasty if served together with cured meats and cheeses , for an appetizer with friends.

The best advice is to consume it as soon as it is made ; if there is any leftover, keep it for a few hours and reheat it before enjoying it.
