Grilled asparagus

Have you ever tried grilled asparagus? It is a typical product that is very simple to make, but which comes out well above all with the right precautions. Asparagus is one of the must-haves of the spring season and it is good to take advantage of this period to be able to prepare them in various ways. What we propose is a really easy recipe that is ready in a short time. Excellent for serving a light but very nutritious side dish, which adapts to many types of dishes.
Once the asparagus has been cleaned, just season it with a few common ingredients. Grilling then takes care of the rest: in this way, you can obtain vegetables with a crunchy outside and a very soft inside. Serve them to accompany cured meats, cheeses but also meat-based dishes and you will immediately fall in love with them!
Preparing the recipe for grilled asparagus
- The first thing to do is clean the asparagus, then remove the woodiest and hardest part of the stem.
- To wash them perfectly, immerse them in a bowl full of cold water for about ten minutes.
- Once finished, dry them well, using a sheet of absorbent paper.
- Prepare an emulsion with which to enrich the flavor of the vegetable; pour the olive oil into a bowl.
- Add lemon juice to taste and, if you prefer, also flavor with salt, pepper and aromatic herbs to taste, such as rosemary.
- Stir to combine everything.
- With a brush, brush this mix on all sides of the vegetable stems.
- In the meantime, heat the plate. When the grill is hot, you can start putting the vegetables on it; cook for about 4 minutes per side .
- Using tongs, turn them over to the other side halfway through cooking ; let them grill until they soften, but the outside must remain very crunchy.
- As they are ready, transfer them to a serving dish.
- Brush them again with the oil and lemon emulsion and they are ready to be served!

Grilled asparagus is a perfect side dish for a light and nutritious lunch, because it is a vegetable full of vitamins and mineral salts; with this cooking, their authenticity remains intact. You can store them for a maximum of 2 days in the fridge and closed in an airtight container.
