Homemade energy bars are a healthy and tasty food, also perfect for a snack outside the home.

Energy bars are a perfect idea for those who want to lose weight by eating thanks to healthy and tasty food prepared at home. These bars are ideal for a snack or snack outside the home as you can always carry them with you.

For this preparation we recommend enriching the dried fruit with your favorite ingredients such as dark chocolate chips. With our doses you will get approximately 16 bars.

Preparing the energy bar recipe

  1. To prepare homemade energy bars, start by chopping the oat flakes, almonds and hazelnuts until you obtain a coarse "flour".
  2. Also add the chocolate chips and mix.
  3. Pour the agave syrup into the bowl then mix well to obtain a sticky but still homogeneous mixture .
  4. Transfer the mixture thus obtained into a baking tray lined with baking paper and flatten until you obtain a layer of approximately 1 cm. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes .
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool before cutting.

Variations for preparing energy sweets

What we have proposed is a basic recipe that we have tried and tried again and, we are sure, everyone will like it. However, you can also customize the list of ingredients by either enriching it or making substitutions.

For example, as we have already pointed out, if you don't have agave syrup at home , honey or maple syrup will also work just fine, but you must take into account that both will greatly modify the final taste of the bars. If you don't like the dried fruit we chose, all you have to do is change it: perhaps adding walnuts (a source of iron) and/or shelled pistachios .

Any more variations? We really like energy bars with seeds : just a handful of goji berries or sunflower or flax seeds and you're done. In short, you are truly spoiled for choice, many recipes emerge from this basic preparation. All you have to do is try them!

Conservation

The bars can be stored in the refrigerator for three or four days .
