- Temporarily keep the watermelon aside, take the water and sugar and place them in a saucepan. Bring to the heat and wait for the liquid to come to the boil .
- Turn off the heat, add the blended watermelon pulp and mix well. Leave to cool and whip the cold cream from the fridge with an electric whisk.
- Add the whipped cream and mix from bottom to top so as not to break the cream.
- Transfer the mixture into a container that you have placed in the freezer at least 1 hour before .
- Place in the freezer and leave to rest for 3 hours , taking care to mix the mixture once an hour at regular intervals to prevent ice crystals from forming.
Watermelon ice cream with ice cream maker
In this case the real difference between the two variants does not depend on the ingredients but on whether or not the ice cream maker is used. If you have this very useful accessory available, you can follow the previous procedure up to the first part of point 4, after which you can pour the mixture thus obtained into the ice cream maker. Turn on your ice cream maker and let it work for the necessary time following the instructions in the appropriate instruction booklet, as timing and working methods may vary from model to model. In any case it will take you approximately 30 minutes .
The variant of crafty watermelon ice cream
In this case the preparation is slightly different, however the advantage is that the ice cream with condensed milk does not freeze , so you will not have to take it out of the freezer every 30 minutes/1 hour to avoid it becoming hard.
To prepare this recipe you need exactly 3 ingredients :
- 500 g of watermelon
- 250 g of liquid whipping cream
- 250 g of condensed milk.
- After fruiting the watermelon, add the condensed milk and mix well with the whisk.
- Separately, whip the cream with an electric whisk, then gradually add it to the watermelon mixture with a spatula.
- Place the ice cream in a container, placed in the freezer at least 1 hour before, and leave it to harden for a few hours or even overnight.
storage
Ice cream can also be stored in the freezer for 2-3 weeks . However, before consuming it, we recommend processing it for a few minutes with a food processor to make it creamier.
