How to make curry rice
Here is the recipe for curry rice, a delicious side dish ideal for accompanying meat and vegetables, but above all very simple to make!
Today we are preparing curry rice, a fantastic recipe that will bring the color and scent of the East to your table. Curry is a blend of spices made up of pepper, cumin, coriander, turmeric and more. Due to its pungent flavour, it is perfect to combine with the delicacy of rice which tradition wants to be basmati .
This dish therefore becomes a perfect side dish to eat with meats, stews, stews, chicken and much more, including vegetables and other recipes, including vegetarian ones: in short, a versatile and truly interesting dish.

How to prepare curry rice
Basmati rice , unlike the classic rice we use for risottos and salads, is cooked by absorption . This technique allows you to preserve all the scents and aromas of the bean and to obtain a perfect consistency. To make it, simply rinse it and put it in a pot with double its volume of water .
Then put rice and water in a pan, cover with the lid and bring to the boil. Then lower the heat and close the lid so that the steam has a minimum amount of venting. Basmati rice is cooked when all the water has been absorbed . To check this, move the rice slightly with the spoon so as to observe the bottom of the pan. For the rest, basmati rice should never be mixed.
In the meantime, finely chop the onion and brown it in a pan (even better in the wok), together with the oil . If you have it, use coconut, just as tradition dictates.
Once tender, add the curry and toast it over high heat.
Add the rice and sauté it in the pan for a couple of minutes, just long enough for the flavors to distribute. Serve hot as a side dish to your meat dishes or as a light first course.

Curry rice is a popular dish especially in Thailand and Sri Lanka . In these areas it is always served as a side dish to spicy dishes such as vegetable or meat curries . If you prefer to bring it to the table as a first course you can do so: in this case we recommend adding some peas to the onion to make it more substantial. The idea of flavoring it with dried fruit (peanuts and almonds) is also excellent.
Conservation
Basmati rice with curry can be enriched with many ingredients, but in any case we recommend storing it for a maximum of 1-2 days in the refrigerator, well covered in cling film or in a special container with a lid.
