This typically summer dish will guarantee you a rich but at the same time light dish, and what's more, thanks to the versatility of these vegetables, you can create many different dishes.

How to cook peppers in a pan

  1. First of all, wash the peppers under cold running water.
  2. Once done, cut them in half and remove the internal white parts and all the seeds, finally cut them into thin strips and leave them aside.
  3. In a pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil (two tablespoons) with a clove of unpeeled garlic, then add the peppers and season them with salt and pepper.
  4. Leave the vegetables to cook for about 20-25 minutes, and when they are almost ready, remove the garlic and add the vinegar. Raise the heat and, once ready, serve them with fresh basil.
  5. If you want an extra touch, you can also add capers or olives during cooking.
  6. To add a twist to the taste, however, add a teaspoon of sugar to the pan: in this way you will taste delicious sweet and sour peppers. Enjoy your meal!

storage

We recommend storing this easy side dish in the fridge, for a maximum of 2 days , inside a container with a special lid or well covered with transparent kitchen film. We do not recommend freezing in the freezer.
