The 12 spoon cake is a quick dessert, very easy to prepare and perfect for breakfast. Here are the ingredients and recipe (without weighing!)

How many times do you give up on preparing a homemade dessert because you don't feel like taking out scales, containers and appliances? The solution to all this is the 12 tablespoon cake. For this quick cake, in fact, all you have to do is keep the number 12 in mind. Yes, because this is precisely the quantity of each ingredient you need to add for the basic dough! Sugar, flour, milk and seed oil should be measured simply with the help of a spoon, without having to ask the scales for help.

The simplest version is the one flavored with vanilla but we will reveal how to obtain, starting from the same recipe, three equally simple tasty variations. It will be your imagination that will give life to all the others. Ready?

For the cake 12 tablespoons

  • 00 flour – 12 tablespoons
  • Sugar – 12 tablespoons
  • Eggs – 3
  • Milk – 12 tablespoons
  • Seed oil – 12 tablespoons
  • Yeast – 1 sachet
  • Vanillin – 1 sachet

Preparation

How to prepare the cake recipe 12 tbsp

Break the eggs into a bowl, add the sugar and mix with a hand (or electric) whisk until the mixture becomes frothy.

Add the milk and oil , stirring constantly, and only lastly the flour with the yeast . Flavor with vanilla and give a final quick stir.

Pour the mixture into a 24cm diameter pan lined with baking paper and bake at 180°C for 35 minutes . Before taking it out of the oven, do the toothpick test . Serve once cold, finishing with a sprinkling of icing sugar if desired.

Variants

This dessert is really simple to customize and thus obtain, with almost zero effort, a different dessert every time. Here's how:

  • 12 tablespoons cocoa cake : replace 3 tablespoons of flour with 3 tablespoons of sifted bitter cocoa;
  • 12 tablespoon lemon cake : replace 3 tablespoons of water with an equal quantity of lemon juice and add the grated zest to the mixture;
  • 12 tablespoon apple cake : cut an apple into cubes and add it to the dough just before baking. As flavorings you can use lemon, vanilla or cinnamon. In a similar way you can also prepare it with pears and chocolate chips.

Conservation

This quick and easy recipe can be kept for about 3-4 days in a cool, dry place, under a glass bell jar or inside a special container. You can also freeze it in the freezer to keep it for longer.
