How to make lemon fried chicken

  1. First of all you will need to marinate the chicken before proceeding with the recipe. This will give the food a stronger flavour. Wash the chicken and cut it into medium-sized pieces (if you want to use it as an appetizer, make smaller pieces so that they can be tasted with a toothpick), then place it in a glass or porcelain baking dish .
  2. Also prepare the three lemons, grating the peel (and setting it aside) and filtering the juice with which you will cover the chicken. Salt, pepper and leave to marinate for 3-4 hours .
  3. Once the necessary time has passed, prepare the ingredients for the breading. Pour the flour into a plate, beat the eggs in another (with a pinch of salt) to which you will add half the grated peel and in a third place the breadcrumbs with the other half of the peel.
  4. Dip the chicken (without rinsing it) first in the flour, then in the eggs, then in the breadcrumbs, pressing a little to ensure that this adheres well.
  5. Heat plenty of seed oil in a very large pan: when it has reached the ideal temperature, pour in the chicken and cook until golden.
  6. Once ready, place the chicken on absorbent paper , so that this captures the excess oil. Serve the lemon chicken piping hot to your guests.

The fried chicken is delicious when ready, nice and crunchy with a delicious interior that almost melts in your mouth. If you can't finish it all at once you can store it in the refrigerator for a maximum of 1 day , well covered in cling film or even better in a container with an airtight lid. we do not recommend freezing.
