Lentil hummus with the Thermomix
Lentil hummus is a variation of the traditional hummus sauce recipe, perfect as an appetizer and easy to prepare with the Thermomix.
Hummus is a typical recipe from the Middle East and consists of a sauce based on chickpeas and tahini, a sesame paste that is easy to find or make at home. There are many variations of this preparation and one of these is lentil hummus, a tasty sauce, ideal for spreading on toasted bread and perfect to enjoy as an aperitif.
This preparation is really easy and quick and you can flavor it with the spices and herbs you like most. Today we will use, in addition to lentils, garlic, lemon, paprika and parsley: the result is guaranteed with any Bimby model , from the oldest to the most modern (TM5, TM6 and TM31) as well as similar robots on the market.
Ingredients
For the lentil hummus
- Cooked lentils – 300 g
- Extra virgin olive oil – 4 tablespoons
- Tahini – 1 tbsp
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Lemon juice – 2 tablespoons
- Paprika – to taste
- Salt – to taste
Preparation
How to prepare the lentil hummus recipe with the Thermomix
To prepare the lentil hummus with the Thermomix, place the well-drained lentils , the garlic clove, the oil , the tahini sauce, the lemon juice and a pinch of salt in the bowl. Blend 30 sec. speed 8 then spread a spatula on the bottom and adjust the consistency by adding a little water or oil if needed.
Blend for another 30 seconds. speed 8 then transfer to a bowl. Complete with a drizzle of raw oil and a sprinkling of paprika .
If you want, you can also start with dried lentils . In this case, leave them to soak for at least 3-4 hours then cook them in a pan for 40 minutes, well covered with water. Salt should only be added at the end to obtain tender legumes. For quicker cooking, use a pressure cooker : 20 minutes from the whistle will be enough.

Conservation
Lentil hummus will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days as long as it is tightly closed in an airtight container.
