We saw them in a well-known Fantozzi film and now we can prepare them with the easy recipe for spaghetti Montecristo.

Even if there is no real recipe for spaghetti alla Montecristo, we can still guess how to prepare them (or otherwise, why not, invent it). Many details about this preparation come from the web and putting them together is very easy, just like preparing this simple fish first course . This is a recipe famous among the Italian public, because it is present in one of Fantozzi's best-known films ; in the film, the famous accountant is in a weight loss clinic, but he just can't resist the goodness of this dish!

This is what happens to everyone at the sight of this inviting recipe. It is a classic first course of clams revisited and made creamier by the addition of a few ingredients. To make everything even tastier we use basil pesto and cream ; in this cream the clams are enriched with flavor and become irresistible. The preparation is very simple and quick, for a delicious first course that makes any lunch special.

Preparing the recipe for spaghetti Montecristo

  1. Before starting, wash the clams under running water; immerse them in a container full of cold, salted water. Leave to drain for 1 hour , remembering to change the water at least once.
  2. Next, take a large pan and pour 3 tablespoons of oil. Add the peeled garlic clove and turn on a medium heat to brown.
  3. At this point, add the clams and cover with a lid; let it cook until the shells open.
  4. Then, shell all the clams or decide if you want to set aside some in their shells for decoration.
  5. Take another pan and pour 2 tablespoons of oil, then add a chopped clove of garlic.
  6. Add the clams and cook for a few minutes.
  7. Pour the wine slowly and let it evaporate, keeping the flame high .
  8. When it has evaporated completely, lower the heat and add the cream and mix; then, do the same with the basil pesto, to mix it completely.
  9. Cook for just another minute and turn off. Stir with a spoon to blend the flavors.
  10. Fill a pan with water, salt it and bring to the boil. Then, immerse the spaghetti and cook them for the expected time.
  11. After draining them, add them to the pan. Sauté for a few minutes on high heat. Once done, you can serve.

Conservation

Spaghetti with clams Montecristo style is very easy to make, for a simple but tasty first course of fish. The best advice is to consume it at the moment, avoiding storage.

Alternatively, serve the delicious spaghetti with walnuts and anchovies .
