Light (but delicious) apple cake


Light apple pie

Light apple pie is a light and delicious dessert, perfect if you love the classic apple dessert but want to enjoy it in a more digestible and lighter version.

Today we are enjoying a wonderful light apple pie, a delicious dessert that is suitable for all apple lovers . The differences compared to the classic version of this cake are the use of a few eggs (we only used two), the lack of butter or oil and the choice to use highly digestible partially skimmed milk. This way you can treat yourself to a tasty cake without worrying too much about the calorie count!

Let's go straight to the kitchen to prepare this fabulous soft and light apple pie!

Ingredients

For the apple pie

  • Golden Apples – 4
  • Eggs – 2
  • Sugar – 120 g
  • Flour 00 – 160 g
  • Partially skimmed milk – 180 ml
  • Baking powder – 1 sachet
  • Organic Lemon – 1
  • Ground cinnamon – 1 teaspoon

Preparation

How to prepare the light apple pie recipe

First of all, focus on the apples . Wash them and cut them into cubes, but keep some aside to make slices to use to decorate the cake. Soak them in a bowl with lemon juice and let them marinate. First, however, remove the lemon zest with a grater and keep it aside.

Break the eggs into a bowl and beat them vigorously in a bowl adding the sugar. You can carry out this step with a kitchen whisk, a fork or an electric whisk to speed up the operation.

Add the sifted flour with the yeast and milk and mix everything until the dough is smooth.

Flavor with cinnamon and lemon zest then add the diced apples .

Line a 24cm diameter cake tin with baking paper (or lightly grease and flour it) and pour in the mixture, leveling it. Decorate the surface by placing the apple slices and then cook in the oven at 180°C for 40 minutes .

Once the surface is nice and golden , remove the light cake from the oven and let it rest . Serve the apple tart while still warm or the next day for breakfast.

Conservation

Store it in the fridge for a maximum of about 4 days and protect it with cling film or inside a glass bell jar.
