Origin

This recipe, now typical of the carnival period, has very ancient origins and owes its name to the cereal initially used in the preparation: millet . To this was then added pig's blood , considered a very nutritious food. In short, the original recipe is very different from the one we know and began to take shape as it is today only after 1700 when the Church prohibited the consumption of pig's blood, considered too linked to pagan rites.
