The day should always start with a healthy and abundant breakfast . Coffee on the fly is not enough to take on all the energy needed to face the morning and that is why we have experimented with a new way of cooking muesli. Pan-fried granola is excellent both in summer when the temperatures get hot, and when you have little time and want to shorten cooking times.

Undoubtedly the most popular version is the pan-fried granola with almonds and chocolate chips but you can also use other varieties of dried or dried fruit such as raisins, blueberries and goji berries. Even the sugary part can be substituted: maple or rice syrup are excellent for a vegan granola . But let's see together how this excellent food is prepared in detail both with milk and yogurt.

How to make the pan-fried granola recipe

  1. Coarsely chop the dried fruit and add it to the oat flakes and set aside momentarily.
  2. In a large pan, melt the honey with the water, the oil and a pinch of salt then add the previous mixture.
  3. Cook for 10-15 minutes until a pleasant caramel smell begins to spread around the kitchen.
  4. Then transfer everything onto a sheet of parchment paper and let it cool. Finally add the chocolate chips.
  5. Break up the granola with your hands and transfer it to an airtight jar, ready to be used for breakfast.

Variations of pan-fried granola: how to make it according to our tastes

As mentioned in the introduction, the pan-fried granola can be customized to taste. Instead of chocolate chips you can put dried fruits such as blueberries, raisins or goji berries. Almonds can also be replaced with other types of nuts or a mix of more types such as hazelnuts, walnuts or peanuts. Green light also in the addition of seeds : sunflower, pumpkin, chia, hemp. In all cases, add them to the granola only a couple of minutes before the end of cooking.

Of course you can prepare granola the traditional way in the oven. In both cases you will get an excellent crunchy muesli that you can also drown in vegetable milk .
